HP to Feature Company Name in Chinese Characters on BMW WilliamsF1 Team Cars at Chinese Formula 1 Grand Prix
Building on this year's excitement over the first ever Chinese Formula 1 Grand Prix, HP today announced that the BMW WilliamsF1 Team will be running both its racing cars at the inaugural Grand Prix with the Chinese version of the company name. The Chinese characters "HUI PU" will be placed on the vehicles' rear spoilers, while the "HP INVENT" logo will remain along both sides of the cars.
This change has been made specifically for the Chinese Grand Prix to help maximise the opportunity for the HP brand to reach over a billion consumers and potential customers across the country. China is one of the world's largest and fastest-growing markets for technology and has remained a priority market for the company since the opening of its first office in 1985.
Sun Cheng-yaw, vice president of HP and managing director of HP China/Hong Kong, said: "As the first Sino-American high-tech joint venture, HP has established a strong brand image in the market. We are very proud to be the first technology company to display the Chinese version of its name on a Formula 1 car. We hope the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai will further broaden the knowledge of HP technology in the China market."
"For the past five years, our partnership with the BMW WilliamsF1 Team has provided a unique way for HP to market our technology capabilities to consumers and businesses alike within the world's most technology-driven sport," said Andrew Collis, global sports sponsorship director, HP. "We look forward to providing Chinese citizens the opportunity to see HP technology at work in a new and exciting way."
